Ironreach Outpost

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Ironreach Outpost is the kind of slow strategy game that rewards planning over panic. You start with a handful of workers and a scrap of land, and you build outward while raiders probe your defences. The clever part is that resources are genuinely scarce, so you can't just spam buildings. Every decision costs you something elsewhere.

The campaign introduces mechanics at a sensible pace. By the fifth mission you're juggling supply lines, worker morale, and defensive layouts all at once, and it never felt overwhelming because each new system got room to breathe. We lost an evening to a single map trying to hold a chokepoint with too few defenders.

The touch controls are tidy, with pinch-zoom and a clean build menu that doesn't bury options. It's not flashy, but it's smart, and the difficulty curve is fair.
